In 2008, Make a Difference Michiana is introducing a new initiative to help community groups connect to non-profits through customized websites called Portals. Portals are built around the needs of a group of people--whether it be a business, a club, a church, a college dorm, a class, a neighborhood--to strengthen that group's relationship with its non-profit partners.
By facilitating regular and productive communication between a group and its partners, both online and offline, Portals empower groups to maximize their impact in the community.
Portals give you
Centralization of Information. All of your group's community efforts and opportunities in one easy-to-access website.
Connection to non-profits. Your group gets regular updates on volunteer opportunities, donation requests, and upcoming events.
Control. Your group collectively determines the why, when, where, and how of all of its community efforts, as well as its non-profit partners.
Collaboration. You select 6 agencies to work closely with, but you're really joining up with an army of 275 Michiana agencies at the same time.
